Moturoa literally means long island. It is the second largest in New Zealand’s beguiling Bay of Islands. It is home to only a handful of hardy souls, who like us, were drawn here by the smell of the sea, a sense of seclusion and the vast open skies.

On Moturoa time stands still. There are no roads, sheep wander freely and locals get around by boat. From the vineyard, only yachts and sightseeing vessels disturb our wide ocean view. We feel blessed to live and work in such stunning surroundings, isolated but also party to a tight-knit community.
